道後温泉は、有馬温泉（兵庫）、白浜温泉（和歌山県）と並んで日本三古湯のひとつに挙げられ、3000年もの歴史を持つといわれる日本最古級の温泉である。その本館は明治27年に建築された風格ある三層楼で国の重要文化財にも指定されている。夏目漱石の『坊ちゃん』にも登場する名湯で、ミシュランガイドでは2つ星に選定されている。朝の6時から営業しているので、スタート前に入浴を楽しむのもいいだろう。ちなみに、自転車を駐めて近隣を散策するときは本館東側の広場に駐輪場がある。

Boasting a history of 3000 years, the Dogo Hot Springs is referred to one of three oldest hot springs in Japan, together with Arima Hot Springs (Hyogo Prefecture) and Shirahama Hot Springs (Wakayama Prefecture). The distinctive three-storied pagoda, or the main building was built in Meiji 27(1896), and is now titled an Important Cultural Property by the Japanese Government. Appearing in Souseki Natsume's "Bocchan," Dogo Hot Springs is an acclaimed spring spot, given 2 stars by the Michelin guide. Open from 6 O'clock in the morning, one can enjoy bathing before they start biking. If you are to take a stroll in the area, there is a bike parking area at the field located on eastern side of the main building.

愛媛県警には欧米のように自転車で交通安全業務にあたるバイシクルユニットがある。スポーツ自転車による専門部隊としては日本国内初となるバイシクルユニットは、ジャイアントが寄贈したSEEK2ベースの特別仕様車を採用。専用フレームデカール、センタースタンド、軽量マッドガード、着脱式リヤバック、誘導灯携行用特別ホルダーなどを装備する他、オージーケーカブト製のスポーツサイクル用ヘルメットやグローブ、キャットアイ製の高照度充電式ヘッドライトなどの安全装備を隊員が着装し、安全啓蒙に努めている。

The Ehime Police department has a unit consistent of officers who practice traffic safety duties on bicycles. Although this is commonly found in the Europe, this is the first expert unit on sports bicycles founded in Japan. Officers engage in services on custom SEEK2 donated by Giant. These bicycles are functionally equipped with a specially designed Frame Decal, Center Stand, lightweight mudguards, removable rear pannier bags, and a special guide light holder. The biker is also supplied with safety devices such as the OGK's sports cycle helmet and gloves, CATSEYE's high illuminated and rechargeable headlight to encourage safety procedures.

松山市の自転車利用率は27％と全国でもトップクラス。国道196線を中心に自転車専用レーンの整備も着実に進められている。

愛媛県庁を目指して松山城趾公園内を走る集団。公園のそばには日本100名城にも選ばれた重要文化財の松山城がある。松山城は日本で最後の完全な城郭建築（桃山文化様式）として、層塔型天守の完成した構造形式を示していると言われている。

The group rides through Matsuyama Joushi Park, headed to the Prefectural Office of Ehime. Close to the Park is the Matsuyama Jo (Matsuyama Castle), which has been appointed one of the finest 100 castles in Japan and named an Important Cultural Property by the government. Matsuyama castle is the only castle remaining perfectly from its kind (Momoyama Architectural Style) – the structural composition is regarded as the perfected Soto Tenshu form.

松山と今治とつなぐ国道196号線。両市内は交通量が多く、走行に注意したいが、途中は斎灘（いつきなだ）沿いを心地よく走ることができる。

Since the National 196 route adjoins Matsuyama and Imabari, cyclists need to be careful of the heavy traffic. Nevetheless, traveling along the Itsukinada is a refreshing experience.
